Can Can Salsa

This Can Can Salsa does not have a whole lot of heat, but is packed with great spicy flavor. It’s so easy because you add 2 cans of this (can, can) and 2 cans of that (can, can)…Can Can Salsa! OLE’.

2 cans petite diced tomatoes (can, can)

2 cans diced green chilis (can, can)

3 tablespoons fresh chopped cilantro

2 tablespoons minced garlic

1 chopped onion

1 tablespoon black pepper

salt to taste

Combine all ingredients and enjoy!

Here are a few hints to make it even easier:

  • Buy onions and cilantro already chopped and garlic already minced and you have virtually no prep time! Check your produce section for availability.
  • Try adding some dry crushed red pepper or jalapenos (fresh or from a jar/can) for extra heat.
  • I put all the ingredients in the food processor and give it a whirl or two. Not everyone likes theirs as blended as I do, though. This is my favorite hint, but I can just see my momma cringing! She likes her Can Can Salsa Chunky!
  • Go with your gut. Experiment and Enjoy!

  2. Dad and your Sis make this almost every week and yes we eat it chunky ! We do dice the onion with a algater blade so it is an exact size tiny. Mmmm good have some in the frig. right now!
